The Minster Church of St John Evangelist has a ring of twelve bells with the tenor bell weighing 881 kg and tuned to the key of F. The back eight bells were cast in 1920 by Mears & Stainbank and were originally hung in Holy Trinity, Bolton. The ring was augmented to ten in 1997, when the back eight were installed to replace the previous ring, with the addition of two treble bells cast by Whitechapel Bell Foundry Ltd. Two further bells were added in 2003, also cast by Whitechapel Bell Foundry Ltd, to form the current ring of twelve.
The church appear to be highly intolerant of other faiths , specifically paganism in my case. i attempted to conduct a private and discreet ceremony of quiet music outside by the ancient burial stones and was interrupted with the insistence of engagement into theological debate at a wholly inappropriate moment. Cardboard i had arranged for comfort outsude was r3moved against my pleas and a quiet drink was knocked over rwice despite my civilised protests. I had to cease activities to attend to a person in need of assistance with accommodation, which i did not mind, but upon resumation of my religious activities the groundsperson insisted upon interrupting me with loud fardening machinery. When i protested angrily, he had me fo4cibly removed in handcuffs by the police. I am in incredible pain in my ribs at present due i believe to their handling of me. i cannot of course even contemplate that anybody will support me in this. this is the church of 3ngland that i was christened into. i have diverged into more archaic faith but retain peace in my pure heart. my advice is to avoid the church until the personnel change and the police cannot be hoodwinked ibto brutality by an intolerant church.ie after tge pandemic is more wholly resolved. if only i had been left alone to practice on ancuent ground. greg moore. 1 point allocated for replacing ruibed drink with inferior and cheaper product by one of the individuals there.
