Food was good and first course was served swiftly. But sadly we were unable to order a dessert as we could not attract the waitress' attention as it became too busy too quickly. They are trying with social distancing but there were at least 2/3 tables too many in the restaurant area with sofa's of people just drinking. The people next to us were so close we could not move our chairs back and had no option but to listen to their conversation. We got up to ask for the bill which we were not supposed to do as the signage says to please remain seated but we began to feel uncomfortable, we commented that we were unhappy only to be told, we are busy because of ' Eat out to help out ' so this is how it is! What a shame!

Very disappointed this evening, had been looking forward to a lovely meal all day. Unfortunately we were 15 minutes late due to an extremely late finish in work (we're all trying to make ends meet currently as I'm sure you can appreciate). And I'll add 5 of those minutes were waiting to be seen by the bar only to be refused a table. First told food stops serving at 7:30, in which case I would suggest not taking bookings at 7:30 or maybe pre order? Then told someone was waiting so they were given our table. I absolutely appreciate the pressures local businesses are under currently hence why we have made an effort to support by eating at local establishments for the last 3 weeks and how losing a table would be concerning, however the manner in which we were spoken to and the blatant lies were unnecessary. Luckily we managed to get a table at short notice in a lovely family run establishment in southport which we will definitely be attending again!!!
Food is great! Briony is one of the best servers we have had anywhere. Highly recommend.
