We went there on Friday evening with friends expecting to have a "wow" food experience due to the prices on the menu and the promise of local, seasonal produce. Sadly, we were underwhelmed. The cutlery was cheap, and inconsistent. A small thing, but it's the small things that count. The waiter service was friendly, but very amateur hour. Food was brought to the wrong table and there were a few near misses with mix-ups. The service was VERY slow. There were maybe 5 tables in for the evening, and we had to wait a long time for our food. So long in fact that they brought out little morsels for us to eat before the starter and the main, almost as an unspoken apology for the delays. When the food did come it was very tasty, but not to the point where I'd want to spend the prices they are charging for food. In particular my pork belly main was a disappointment. Inside it was lovely and succulent, as expected, but the outside was dry and hard and nasty. There was nowhere near enough sauce either. I mentioned this to the waiter and the feedback was received gratefully (so that's a plus at least). Don't get me wrong, this place isn't bad, but for 25-30 per person for 2 courses the restaurant is putting itself in a price bracket that it just doesn't occupy with the quality of food and service at the moment.
