Visited Wainwrights to get a pair of shoes for our 4 yr old son. Thoroughly impressed throughout by the service provided. Extremely knowledgeable on every aspect of the shoes and a thoroughly professional service provided throughout. I would thoroughly recommend this shop and the excellent efforts of its staff. In an age where shop staff are rarely knowledgeable on the product being sold this shop provides a refreshing change. Additionally, thorough Covid-19 mitigation measures are in place. 5/5.

Only person in the shop at 4pm. 3 lady staff members all engrossed in conversation and happy laughing. I was asked, as soon as I arrived, if I needed any help and replied courteously ( as you would ). I looked at all the shoes. They continued laughing and enjoying themselves. I’d just decided that “ I didn’t fit in” when the young owner asked the back of my head if any could get me shoes to try? His colleague said “ I did ask her”..... I am a retired retail manager. Needless to say I’m not impressed, no way would my team continue in such a group if a customer was present, they would tidy round, look busy and wait for the “buying signs”. Not too concerned to be “helped” I looked at a few more shoes before leaving. I can get the same shoes on line, try them at home and not feel like an intruder disturbing the staff. This shop is fabulous usually. I’m disappointed today. That a 70 sale lost, actually I desperately need two pairs...... better get home and go shopping.

I need specialist shoes after an operation, one chap tried, not so much the other! They were ordered me a pair of shoes, which were very small when they arrived. They refused to take off the VAT when other shops selling DB shops take it off. I went to the DB factory and tried on the shoes, Wainwrights should have ordered and they fitted straight away!!
