To be perfectly honest, I do not understand all of the negative reviews, as I had a completely different and positive experience with GenPsych Hamilton. My 11 year old daughter was the patient, after a 7 day psych hospital stint. Everything was done remotely, and I was very impressed with their ability to both get the children to stay in the groups as well as stay on topic. I also just want to take a moment to thank the entire staff personally. You are all amazing, so patient, so caring, and so helpful! You all did such an excellent job, and it was very helpful to my daughter, even if she didn't always seem like it. So thank you all from the bottom of my heart. I can't even find words that are good enough to express how amazing the whole staff is, and how grateful and thankful we are that you did actually help our daughter so much. She struggled with a few issues, including suicidal ideation, and this program definitely helped her so much, and as a parent that is all you can ask for. Every member she came in contact with was nice, empathetic, and cared about her well being. I can't speak for everyone else, but I would send my child here in a heartbeat if your doctor recommended it.

GenPsych is definitely 5 stars. At first I was reluctant to post anything that tied my name to a mental health facility because there is such a stigma tied to it however, everyone can use help. They offer so many services anybody would benefit from it especially in these current times. Plus it’s ok not to be ok and get help for yourself. I’ve attended GenPsych three times & each time I have a better experience, they teach you the DBT skills to deal with everyday life issues, I’m always learning something new that helps me cope with everyday struggles. I’ve referred friends that have also had such positive experience. My therapist Smita Chopra is an amazing caring person that is so understanding. The director Aurora Clark is so knowledgeable and explains things in a way that you can really relate to. All other therapists are wonderful as well. If your looking to take care of yourself GenPsych is the place to go.

Overall, amazing staff and I enjoyed the curriculum. I felt like I was being heard, not so much questioned about what I wanted to do. The only thing is when someone is having a bad day, they shouldn’t be pushed to talked-honor the boundaries set by the individual. I’ve learned tons of new skills that I’m able to use regularly.

IMPOSSIBLE to get anyone by phone or email. I have been calling at least twice a day everyday for two weeks trying to make a follow up appointment that they were supposed to call me to schedule a month ago. I have left voicemails with reception, my DR, and the intake person who said she was reaching out to a supervisor. I have submitted at least two requests online for an appointment or some sort of contact. Nothing. Never get a return call or even an answer. My meds are running out and cannot get a refill without the DR, so I am hoping for no side affects since these need to be tapered. Don't understand how this place is run but I will definitely be finding a new DR, since I don't really have a choice!
