It was great food with great service. We were a little upset that they don't take reservations, but we were seated right away anyway. Their homemade potato chips were so good! The portions were nice and the desserts were delicious. Would definitely go again.

Good food but could be great. The lobster roll was a little heavy on the bread but otherwise had very good flavor. The burger was tasty and the croissant bun was good, although maybe a little bit gimmicky. While the decor was modern and clean, the paper napkins were just out of place. All in all we enjoyed our meal and would definitely go back.
Though the food took a while to be served, the food was very good. The special, lamb ravioli, was delicious. The Kale and scallops salad was good. However, the dill and lemon dressing could be better. The pork taco were flavorful and moist. For appetizer, the guacamole dip with chips were great. Our waitress was very attentive and managed to provide a very good experience. We'll return very soon to try the other dishes.
I've been there twice on a Thursday and just today--a Saturday. The food is terrific, the staff is very pleasant and well-trained, the prices are good and the restaurant is attractive to look at. But the place is louder than Blue Point grill; it's louder than Bobby Flay's Burger joint. This is easily (on Saturday, not Thursday) the noisiest restaurant I have ever been to, anywhere. What were the designers thinking? All the good points fall to the side in the face of the incredibly high volume of people talking.
I thought the food tasted great. We had very young children with us, so even though it's a little upscale, it's not that upscale. I definitely plan to go back.
Certainly one of the best mid-priced restaurants in the area. You can get a good meal for under 20, and an excellent one with appetizers, dessert and wine for 100 a couple. The menu is varied and, from the things our party of five tried, consistently good. I had Linguine Al Frutta di Mare, which was light and tasty. They serve wine very inexpensively from the Hopewell Vineyard, which uses grapes from around the world and is quite decent. Cheerful service. Not quiet, though, if you're looking to conduct business or romance.
North End Bistro has lots of potential to be the go-to-spot in Princeton for American-style comfort food with a twist. However, they need to work out a few kinks before they can claim that title. My husband and I enjoyed (very) quiet lunch at noon on a Sunday - things started to pick up closer to 1pm. He ordered the burger and I the lobster "roll". He said the burger was tasty - made with LaFrieda meat - but that the croissant roll was more of a gimmick than a flavor enhancer and he would have rather had a bricohe bun. My lobster "roll" was actually a sandwich. Rather than a hot dog bun it was served between two huge slices of toasted brioche. Personally, I found the amount of bread to overpowering. After the first half of my sandwich, I decided to eat the second half open-faced and the lobster then became the star. The lobster itself was abundant, flavorful, and not overdressed. The addition of avocado is welcome if not completely necessary. It typically comes with french fries but I replaced it with a house salad. The dressing was good but I would have preferred mesclun greens to the chopped romaine hearts. In terms of decor, the dark purple walls and wood accents are warm and inviting. The booths are roomy and the coat hooks are convenient. I would have preferred cloth napkins to the disposable ones they gave us. Service was very friendly and perfectly attentive.
I had the lobster mac and cheese today and I was disappointed! This food has such great potential, but it seems bland and generic. Nothing special. and I was excited to have it too.
