I have been a ketamine patient for almost two years now. Before switching from a infusion clinic to Dr. Cohen and his amazing team, I was having my vitals taken once when I arrived and then left in the room alone for the duration of the infusion with a drip bag. The way Dr. Cohen and his team administer the medication make it an extremely comfortable and tolerable experience. Your vitals are taken throughout the infusion and a NP and a RN are in the room with you the entire time. Ketamine has for sure saved my life. But Principium psychiatry has drastically improved my over all quality of life through excellent care.

Had a terrible experience at this office being seen for a psychiatric consultation. Was unable to see a psychiatrist, instead given a nurse practitioner. NP was unyielding and would not work with me to develop an adequate treatment plan. She was also condescending and hostile over the phone when I tried to compromise with her office, she seemed more motivated by selfish curiosity (as she stated) than the Hippocratic oath. Would not recommend, very hard and upsetting to deal with.

Great Experience. Dr. C is very knowledgeable and caring. He really took the time to address all my concerns and fears and wasn't just rushing to give me a prescription. I Have been seeing him for just over a year now. Office staff are very accommodating and always good at returning my phone calls. The office is conveniently located at midtown Manhattan next to all the subways. I'm very pleased with this office & highly recommend the doctor.

Their website states they provide ketamine infusions. Apparently those are mandatory for the front desk staff because when I called, the lady on the phone could barely comprehend what I was asking about. She literally took good 45 seconds to answer a single question. I don’t know if ketamine causes hearing impairment as well but she also kept asking me what was that I said since she couldn’t hear well. I wonder how people with actually serious mental conditions are able to make an appointment there since one needs some heroic restraint to get anything arranged with that lady.

I'm really glad I took advice of a friend and looked for Psychiatry in NYC after relocating here. I found the process to be thoughtful and helpful. Dr. Cohen was very understanding and made me feel very comfortable and was genuinely interested in helping me work through issues and not just prescribing me a treatment. He is a great listener and the staff was very professional and helpful. I highly recommend Principium Psychiatry and Dr. Cohen to anyone looking for psychiatric help.
