I got bronchitis (probably from sitting in Mexico City airport and pollution for a layover.) My parents had used the hospital previously and been satisfied. Paying privately and being a foreigner seemed to put me to the front of the line. I saw a doctor who could manage in English. Don't get your prescriptions filled at the hospital and make sure to tell them if you don't want some items. The visit and what the doctor prescribed cost me 100GBP - most of that was prescription, some of it was not needed (like expensive paracetamol or could be got elsewhere (or ask for generics.) I wasn't feeling well or I would never have said yes to some of that. (I turned down the offer to stay in the hospital as time in bed is always better at home and apparently your family or friends have to bring you food!) Overall ok, but be wise!
Coming from New York, I was not sure about moving to Progreso because I have a family of four, not sure if the hospital would be good. My 6 year old hurt his foot in a 4-wheeler beach accident, took him to the Emergency room. The front desk spoke some English. The first P.A. I saw didnt speak English, but I was able to explain what happened. He recommend X-ray, got that quickly, no broken bone. Saw the doctor at the end of the 1.5 hour stay and paid only 60 U.S. I would suggest being very vocal in explaining what you need done and not assuming anyone understands. Tell them what has happened or what you need done many times and make sure they understand! What more can you expect? Great job staff!

Atención pronta eficiente y eficaz el personal muy capacitado y muy acertado
El dia 22 de noviembre estuve a urgencias porque' me corto' un bagre atras de el tobillo Me pusieron un analgesico e me recetaron un analgesico y un antinflamatorio. Despues' de tres dias empezo' una infection muy severa hasta la mitad de la pierna Estuvo dos semanas ne la cama por esto. Mi esposo me llevo' a este hospital porque' penso' que tenian "experencias". Porque' los doctores de urgencias no saben que en estos casos las personas tiene que tomar antibioticos ????? Alcunos doctores recetan también antitetanica. Porque' le dice que tiene que poner la parte afectada con agua fria se el veleno del bagre es termolabile???? El bagre te inyecta, oltre al veleno, un monton de bacterias. Espero que a nadie le pase esto nunca mas.

Muy buena atención de las y los médicos. Es el hospital de mayor calidad en el puerto.
