DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!! Our company Warner Construction Ltd, ordered the below items to be delivered to New Zealand: Seamless Cold Drawn Carbon Steel Tubes as per SA/A179 SA/A450 610 Pcs 19.05mm OD x 2.11mm WT x 12011mm Long 527 Pcs 19.05mm OD x 2.11mm WT x 184 to 851mm Long We purchased these Tubes on a CIF basis and only got ownership upon receipt of shipping documents (Transfer of funds). On receiving the goods, the crates were opened, and it was discovered that the tubes contained superficial rusting. Initially, we thought that that was the tubes at the top of each crate but on unpacking all of them discovered that most were affected by rust. On inspection there was no trace or evidence of any Rust Inhibitor or Oil being applied inside and outside as noted on their Inspection Certificate No. 02/18/26070. This was never applied. The damage was noted as soon as the crates available and we tried everything possible to get the damage resolved even requesting to get an Insurance Assessor involved. To preserve the integrity of the tubes and ensure that they were fit for use, a considerable number of man hours were required for what was a labour-intensive process. We estimate, that those man hours have a value of 35,000.00 (NZ). Salem Tube & their Australasian agent Stirling SPS have played complete hardball refusing to answer any correspondence or communication. They have failed to live up to their obligations and responsibilities.

I was working for as a temp for Salem Tube but the incident happened yesterday and someone lost his mind and throw two hand full of sharp clips towards me luckily I had my safety glass on. I reported to the MD and they fired me instead of the guy. in general the company has very brutal management and the lifting of tube is all very heavy for workers the floor supervisor already has hurt his knee and neck and his back they use the worker as a mule sometimes the tube you lift is over 80 or 100 kilo I am going to report this to Health and safety executive in UK .
