Public Art - Southampton Street, Leicester Murals

These Street Art murals are here because, on 27th May 2017, Leicester City Council funded a festival called the \Bring the Paint International Street Art Festival\ to encourage street artists to come to this part of Leicester City - which has been designated by the Council as \The Cultural Quarter\ - and paint a wide variety of designs on blank walls. The Council paid for \cherry picker\ elevating platforms so that normally inaccessible locations like these could be decorated. The results can be seen in a wide number of eye-catching designs (and some which seem, to me, to be somewhat rather self-indulgent self-portraits of the artist concerned) in often unexpected parts of this area. This suface-level car park on Southampton Street, Leicester has three entirely differing designs - as can be seen in my photos. A new crop of Street Art murals will appear in Leicester City next year as another \Bring the Paint\ Festival is scheduled for 20 - 26/5/2019.
