If your unsure about placing a loved one in a nursing home don't be charlton court is excellent my sister was in the home with a terminal illness the nursing and care staff are excellent I worked myself as a carer I have never seen a home with such a friendly relaxed atmosphere. Would highly recommend.

I am giving a 3 star due to the CQC visit, I myself work in a Psychiatric care home, ok not the sie of this one, we get a good from CQC, The reason mainly I offer a 3 star is they have just been scored as this shows. Safe Requires improvement Effective Requires improvement Caring Requires improvement Responsive Requires improvement Well-led Requires improvement Yet they have just increased the cost of the care here TODAY, the cost of this care home is not reasonable, and families are struggling to pay at the best of times, I am sure they do not need to put the cost up, they pay minimal wages and seem to have lots of forign staff, not to say they are not nice caring people, I was there just yeasterday 1st April, It took several minuets to get in, after been very cold, after I signed in the staff who let me in did not ask who I was as I was not a regular visitor, and just walked away! security is as important as hygeine. The interaction I had with staff was pleasant. the Bulding seemed clean and tidy, I think the rooms could do with a lick of paint but in all not too bad, but for the thousands it coss to keep a loved one there maybe some on site maintainance staff I AM SURE IT COSTS A LOT TO RUN IT, BUT IF YOUR IN THE BUSINESS OF CARE, RESPONCIBILTY IS PARAMOUNT. My sister has been there a few years and is very unwell now. I hope the next CQC inspection shows GOOD. IN ALL ASPECTS. as the last one also showed requires improvment?
The staff and all the other ancillary worker's have been fantastic looking after my sister, very caring and patient in very trying circumstances. I rate them highly
