If you are natural lover ,you would enjoy this place. Forest area in Pondicherry much surprised when I heard. Located near court opposite to AFT ground. As soon as you enter you have to put entry.There is no vehicle to take you around. Have to walk around .

A walk through a forest in the midst of the city! The untouched vegetation and the sounds of birds make for a lovely passage. Not many people know about it, but it’s a must visit for all nature lovers.
You can enjoy nature & walk for max 1.5 kms inside this dense forest. Entry Free. Visitors need to enter your name & Govt ID card in entry book. Timings: Daily 9:30 am to 4:30 pm. Monday Holidays
Nice place to take a walk. Witnessed one of the deer's giving birth at the deer enclosure.
A nice place to visit, a forest in the heart of Pondicherry city, wow you like this place, there are so many mosquitoes here. so I suggest some precautions against mosquitoes
As of 26 November 2019, animal cages are empty or filled with garbage. Peacocks are the only animals present. The forest is not accessible due to "flooding" (?) and in general, the place resembles a construction site rather than a place in which you can enjoy nature...very sad...
Best place to go with friends and family
This is on the cuddalore road on the southern side of the court complex. This houses the forest department.It has few birds.A cage for monkey. Only one is there.A few peafowl in another enclosure.Few parrots ,a white bustard,rat snake and other varieties like cobra and other in a separate enclosure.5 nos of large and lengthy snakes in a total dark enclosure and many deers in a large enclosure well protected. Could not see them since they are protected by two fences on near the deer and another for spectators. A dense greeneries inside with mud path for a walk to make us feel that we are inside a forest.Better to go inside in groups.
