Great alternative for creole buffet in Lima. This restaurant has 20 years delighting locals. The local is located in an old "hacienda" which you feel like going back in time. The buffet has more than 40 different dishes and a whole varieties of desserts. If you don't want buffet, there is also menu. The service is quite good. It's quite busy during the weekends --good to book in advance.

Sunday's buffet is very good!! Great for a family gathering. Spacious, clean, great staff. It works for smaller groups as well. If you have the time, a previous visit to the close-by Anthropology museum and then lunch, works great. They have a wonderful variety of Peruvian pride.

From the looks of it, large space with room after rooms of tables and tour buses that parked outside, it was destined to be a tourist trap, but it is not. The place turned out to serve some of the best food we had in Peru and the service was prompt. We ordered couple of dishes from the house specialty menu which include roasted pork with crackling skin served beans (Lechón a la Caja China), braised rice with pork sausage, pork and sweet plantain (Arroz con Chancho al Estilo Bolivariano), a popular Peruvian shrimp soup (Chupe de Langostinos) and a mixed seafood plate and they were all great except maybe the mixed seafood plate which could have been better. That left us with no room for dessert but coffee was good. You can do a wine tasting on the same premise but we had no time for it.

This place was great. It was family style and I think I got to try about different classic Peruvian dishes. So much food. It's not some gourmet super expensive ultra classy place, it serves food the kind of quality you would get In a Peruvian household, and it was wonderful.
