Good for kids
Nice walk, decided to make our own trail as AA book of walks weren’t signed property. Started south down walk towards burton. Roman villa weren’t open due to COVID and not much to look at through the gates. The surrounding houses were nice with well kept thatched roofs and the locals were lovely. There is very little cover at the top of the hill which makes it feel much colder, suggest wearing warm clothing and walking boots as some walking routes take you through muddy fields. Prefect for dogs as wide open fields but lots of sheep around. Saw red kites and other birds along with lots of interesting plants as well wild garlic. Burton hill car park is free but the other road up to it has many pot holes.

A real gem of a place. Finding the carpark itself is not the easiest of tasks but when you do your right on the heart of the Southdowns way. Spectacular views & so many paths to explore inc memorial site of a crashed ww2 plane nearby.
Good views all round, easy walks. But terrible track/road going up to the carpark. More potholes than road!
Great views when it's not cloudy and a wealth of great footpaths and bridleways to use. The road up to the car park is fairly rough and uneven, but passable by vehicles with decent wheel clearance.
Awesome views, free parking. Had a fire, bbq and a great walk
There are so many directions to explore and so much natural beauty all year round to absorb
What a spot. The views really are amazing. Lots of walks to explore. Looking forward to returning for some stargazing soon too. Track up is bumpy & narrow like mentioned but plenty of parking at the top. Mind the herd of cows & bull though, my 3 children were hysterical as we returned to the car. They were blocking the gate & then came running towards us. Good education opportunity for them as they were harmless & wanted to see what we were up to.
Well located with lots of empty spaces.
