South Downs Light Railway is a great place to take young children. And any adults who like model trains. The staff and volunteers are enthusiastic about their work and love to share what they do with people. After a few rides you can retire to the Cafe in the garden centre for lunch or a hot drink, and some cake. There's also a soft play area inside to keep the kids entertained.

A quaint (well hidden) narrow gauge railway, that is situated in Pulborough West Sussex. From the delightful ticket hall, through to the narrow gauge trains themselves, this really is a great way to spend an hour or two with the children. The railway staff - all volunteers - are lovely, and both passionate & knowledgeable about what they do & are all really great with children - young & old.
