Assistant Commissioner of Fisheries, Pune

Government Fish Seed Production Center at Hadapsar, established in 1959 is one of the oldest fish breeding Center in Maharashtra. The center along with two other Govt. Fish breeding and rearing center's namely Veer & Manikdoh in Pune district is catering the needs of fish farmers in the district. Total area covered by Fish Ponds is approximately 7 acres and anticipated production capacity is about 40 Lakhs in an year. The center has one working hatchery and a store room to store fish feed. The Center has an Assistant Fisheries Development Officer as a administrative officer & five posts of Matsyakshetrik for the day to day work and supervision. The center primarily works under the wings of Assistant Commisssioner of Fisheries (Tech.), Pune which is situated in the building of the center. Center is unique in its natural environment which is fully surrounded by Coconut, Mango, Nilgiri and other tree.
