The square has been renovated with several buildings restored to their former glory. However it is quite busy, with a major traffic intersection so not much happening of a tourist attraction

Must see area when you visit Pécs. The centre of town with literally dozens of must sees around and near the square. Lots of happenings as well, bands, exhibitions, displays, markets etc.

The city and square really deserve the title of the Capital of Culture. A very pleasant, relaxed and hospitable place, with a rich offer of restaurants and cafes

Pécs, in 2010 together with Istambul and Essen was awarded the Cultural Capital of Europe title. The city s main hystorical objectives are restored perfectly. You can find tourist infos on the corner of the market, with free maps. Pécs really worths the tripp and the time.
