Everything is organic and original in our farm and nothing is cool in Pöytyä. Except when winter hits these parts. That’s why people here have inherited the craft to knit the most perfect Myssys in the world.” Myssyfarmi* is an award-winning organic farm and an ambitious ecodesign company from Pöytyä, Southwest Finland. The farm has belonged to the family since late 1800th century and we have been actively developing it since 2008. At Myssyfarmi we believe things are better done slowly. We produce 100% traceable and hand-made-in-Finland wool accessories of organic Finnsheep wool. The product represent simple Scandinavian design with simple forms, strong structure and playful, but natural colors. Our business has a strong social aspect: the products are made by local retired ladies - myssymummot. We started our international path at the Ethical Fashion Show Berlin in January 2016 and our accessories are today sold in 15 countries in Europe and Asia. We farm 165 hectars of organic fields and have specialized in vegan protein. Myssyfarmi's consumer products are: Organic Virgin Turnip Rape Oil, which was selected The Organic Product of the Year in Finland 2015 in professional food service series. Turnip rape is a special plant farmed in only northern Scandivia. Though it resembles rape (raps) closely, it does differ from it both by taste and nutritional consistency. Our organic green pea products include Hulda peas, crushed peas and pea flour designed by us for cooking and baking with tasty and traceable Finnish vegan protein. Myssyfarmi is a family company run by isäntä (farmer) Janne Rauhansuu, who is a former professional windsurfer FIN-24, and emäntä (landlady) Anna Rauhansuu, who has a previous career in advertising business. We are proud of our work and have a strong believe in the future of Finnish farming culture.
