The building in an offer itself has much to offer historically. Tours are conducted by very experienced guides will answer any questions you have. I would highly recommend swing by if you're in the area!

President John Adams donated the money for the granite used to build this beautiful church. He and Abigail, along with their son President John Quincy Adams and his wife Louisa are at eternal rest in the Adams family crypt below the church. The Presidential pew is marked where President John Quincy Adams and his family sat for service. The church member who gave the tour was wonderful. It was a special experience.

After visiting his grave, we then toured the Church and my charges were turned over to the docent whose name is Kathy. She is there just once a week and she volunteers as it is clear that she loves her country. I watched closely how she focused on the girls aged 10 and 12 as her mom and grandparents made the journey to instill in them a love for our history. The girls were tiring at this stage but Kathy made the occasion one that will be forever seered in their memory. I have rarely seen a docent connect so well, late in their day.

After our tour at the Adams Historical Park we meandered across the street to see the United First Parish Church where we were given a guided tour led by an enthusiastic member of the congregation. She provided us with a concise history of the building, the parish and the Adams family association with this church and the community. We were glad that we took the extra time to stop here and felt that the small donation asked for the tour was reasonable and worthwhile.

Stopped in the \Church of the Presidents\ at the recommendation of the rangers at Adam's National Historic Park and am so glad I did. Tour is donation based and well worth the 5 recommendation. In addition to the history upstairs, you get to go down into the crypt where the tombs of both John and John Quincy Adams are laid to rest.
