They picked up our riding lawn mower 6 weeks ago. Two weeks after they had it, I called and they said they would look at it and call me right back. A few days later I called again, no one answers the phone and I left a message. After 3 weeks I did talk to someone and was told they would look at it that afternoon and would once again get back to me. Still never heard anything from them, my husband went there and was told they ordered the parts and it would be covered under the warranty and once again they would call. They never called again. I finally called our warranty place and told them, they had the lawn mower a month and it should have been fixed by now. They could not reach anyone for comments. I went up there and was told that it needed a spark plug and a carburetor, which we just put in a new spark plug before we took it there. The man said it was not covered under the warranty and I would have to pay 150 to get it fixed and they never ordered the parts. I guess they were going to bill the warranty place and bill me for the money. The man said it was the owners fault nothing was ordered yet. I called the warranty place once more and R & C told them they had the part and would be fixed Friday and the mower would be returned on Tuesday to my home. I received no phone calls from them and no mower. I called the warranty place again and they cant get any one to answer the phones there. I told them just return the mower because they have no clue what they are doing there. My lawn mower has sat outside for 6 weeks in the rain and still not fixed. I had to pay for lawn service to cut my lawn. This place is a terrible place, never bring anything there for repair. If you do you will be sorry.

Absolutely terrible service. I brought my Hitachi drill batteries in on warranty. I've called. I've left messages. I've talked to the manager. After a total of six weeks i decided to call Hitachi myself and asked if they could figure it out for me. They checked their account and they haven't even talked to them at all. Needless to say i am completely unsatisfied with R & C's Small Engine Repair located in Cedar Lake Indiana. If you want something done in a timely matter and a place with good service... i would go somewhere else.
I wanted to get a pull rope fixed on a weed eater... but they are two weeks behind right now. I guess that could mean they are so good they have that much business, but this time a year it's hard to wait two weeks to get lawn equipment back. Maybe hire some help?
