A great place to camp while exploring the L'ainse aux Meadows area.

A small campground, not too far away from L'Anse aux Meadows. I stayed there for two days while exploring the northern peninsula. It's an easy drive to all the Viking stuff, and there is a good restaurant/convenience store/gas station to the north in Raleigh not too far away. The campground itself is simple, but we'll kept. There is a single loop of primitive campsites nestled in a grove of stunted fir trees. Some of the campsites have a nice view of the bog adjacent to the camping area. The facilities are good with flush toilets and full sized shower stalls with hot water. Not too many campers, so there was never a wait to use the showers. There is also a small day use area with a beach/swimming area. Did not see anyone there during our visit, so you would probably have the place to yourself. Cost was very reasonable and check-in was easy. The rangers their were very nice and helpful as well. A great experience overall.

Nice clean campground with hot showers and trees between the sites. Quiet and private.

I didn't take any photos. :( We were at campsite 4 with a tent. Some sites have a platform for tents ours did not. The park it's self is very well maintained. You can buy bundles of wood for 5 and they deliver to your site. Quiet time is at 10PM and they do walk around to ensure it. You do have some privacy but some lots more than others. There is no cell service. It's about a five minute walk to the lake for swimming and there is a little play park for kids. In the women's washrooms they have three showers with hot water not coin operated. They also have laundry facilities. Coin operated for those. You are allowed to drink and smoke(cannibis included) on your own site. If you go with several people or alone and it's pouring they do have cook houses With picnic tables inside. I would definitely go camping there again.

I spent two nights at Pistolet Bay Provincial Park. It is a wonderful place to set up camp while exploring the surrounding area. There are bathrooms and hot showers available, and quiet hours begin at 10 p.m.

Wonderful, friendly staff and nice facilities for such a remote part of Newfoundland. Had a moose hang out in our site area and took some great pictures of him. Cold for camping in August but still a great stay.

This was a surprisingly good campground. The campsite was very well maintained, the comfort station was clean and spacious, and the park is close to several things I'd recommend seeing. All in all, if you're in the area I'd recommend camping here.

This place offers total convenience to points of interest in St. Anthony's and L'Anse aux Meadows. Site is well maintained and is a campers haven. Highly recommend.
