Their facilities are great. They seem to want to help, however, I have had a stay at the South Wilmington Street Center and encountered some of the same issues. I am currently enrolled in their \New Life\ program which is supposed to span a time of 18 months. I have currently attended for a week now. The program is structured great, and the facilities are decent. However, the staff an residents seem to have a problem with allowing \White Flag\ guests, who obviously have no where to go, being in the building. They literally unplugged the main cable attachment to make it seem as if thede was no cable on the tv's in their entertainment room. I had to search for channels on each tv using the attenna function when they offer cable service that provides many more channels. When I asked about if they could fix it I was told that Hurricane Florence was the cause. They also make us work while in their \New Life\ program which is fine with me. However, in order to save on janitors they give us chores like cleaning the bathroom. I am a firm believer in maintaining the place that you live, but not everyone feels that way. So, having to clean pee off of the floor and doodoo off of toilet seats and walls because of nasty dirty old men is not part of my criteria. I've been living here for about 2 weeks now and their protocol is all out of whack. Not all of the CSS workers are the problem but their system of communication is clearly failing the residents that they have brought in for their New Life program. I will have more to post later and future updates for as long as I am in the program.
