I've had Raphael Homes work on two large renovation projects at my house: a fix to the foundation and full kitchen remodel before moved in, and a complete replacement of one end of the roof/ porch/ deck after major tree damage following a storm. Both times they were great to work with. Rick and his team brought an enthusiastic, problem solving attitude to both projects and were always willing to listen to us. They came up with good solutions to the unforeseen conditions that always crop up during construction projects, and the final result has been everything we were hoping for. I would not hesitate to hire them again.

Raphael Homes exceeded our expectations throughout the process of our six month home remodel and we are thrilled with our ew\ home! Rick and his team of experts were helpful, detail-oriented and trustworthy. At every stage, Rick offered advice and guidance and we greatly appreciated his suggestions. Rick delivered our remodel on time and has continued to be available for ongoing questions and issues. We have already recommended him to several friends and family members and would not hesitate to use him and recommend him again.

Rick and Lynette were a pleasure to work with while building our dream \custom\ home. They are a great team that are very detail oriented and have a great ability to navigate us through the home building process. Enjoyed working with them and would do so again. Congrats to Raphael Homes and their team to build us a great home.

In 2014 we purchased a 1956 rancher that previously had one owner. The house had not been updated since the 80's but the \bones\ were good and we saw the potential. Through friends, family and internet searches we identified several potential contractors, Raphael Homes among them. Rick Raphael was a hands-on project manager with experience in home renovation and new construction, and ably participated during the design phase that preceded our six month construction project. The trades people were personally engaged with the project and were down right nice to deal with. To be sure, we had a few tense moments, especially with plumbing related stuff, but Rick and the contractors made things right without our having to arm wrestle anyone. Rick’s timeline and financial terms were clear and we completed the project within both. It’s now five years since we moved in. We absolutely love our house and still use Rick as a resource when any house issues arise. On a personal note, Rick’s calm demeanor and friendliness further supports our claim that he’s a great person to work with.

Rick is a good and knowledgeable builder. You should realize that he does not build your home. He manages subcontractors who do the work. In our experience, some of them were excellent a few were poor. We have been slowly correcting the mistakes. We have found mistakes in plumbing and hot water, electrical, HVAC, and we have had wood ceiling elements displace downward and even fall off. We have had leaks after five years in our 50 year roof where the installer relied on caulk. You should be mindful of your home's location relative to the subcontractor's location. Many of the subcontractors were happy to travel for an installation job, but not for maintenance and repair. I know one of our expectations was that the contractors who installed the systems, and hence know them, would take care of them over time. We have not found that this was realized. We have needed to rely on more local repair services who do not know the systems as well as the installer. That has been a disappointment. If I were looking for a builder again, I would vet every subcontractor and seek a written agreement with each of them to continue to maintain what they built. Take lots of pictures at every stage of construction. Many times the photos I took during construction show details that are later covered up by drywall, etc. This can be essential for a repair service who does not know the \bones\ of the house. Once you sign the last check, you should consider that you are on your own. That is not to say that Rick is in anyway unethical, but it does mean that he has moved on to the next project, which is his focus.
