Fantastic even in winter, a little muddy but no problem in walking boots. Great views all the way around. Sign posting pretty poor however managed to not get lost and found our way around up and over the hill down to the stream , up the valley a bit and turned around, come back to the old garden then through the small valley back the carpark up the top. Be advised that there is no map at this car park, only at the lower end by the houses.

Nice woodland walk. Bit of a steep hill from the Church entrance but well worth the effort once at the top. The signs in the woods don't match the colour key on the board at the entrance so could be misleading and end up doing a different route to the one planned.
Lovely little wood to explore, great views from the hills, and field area for picnics and games.
We walk down through Rectory woods, stunning & peaceful place, great history to them too, as the sign say's \strole in the footsteps of Georgian gentry\. The scenery around pool & the ice house in the woods are lovely. The field has benches, ideal for picnics & kids to play. A really good place to visit in town. Highly recommended.
A deep green doorway to the hills, full of old magic and ancient trees.
