Stuck in lockdown, I needed something urgently from my sister in Oxford. I phoned a couple of courier firms and it looked like it would cost me really silly money. Called Redhead, who quoted a reasonable price for a dedicated immediate collection, but said it would be half that if I could wait until they had another job anywhere in that direction. I said I'd wait. Within an hour they came back and said it would be next day. Even though the other job got cancelled, they still fitted me in, and I got my delivery a little more than 24 hours after my first call, and at a very good price indeed. Everything about my dealings with Redhead was professional, efficient and friendly. Thoroughly recommended.

Unfortunately, pretty much every time that I have had to speak to Andy I have been disappointed by the approach that he has dealt with the situation. It is not an isolated incident, it has happened repeatedly over the last few years. He is aggressive, he is offensive, at times he has been very rude. I am unsure why he feels that it is necessary or even acceptable to treat people in this way to do his job, regardless of the circumstances, it is never tolerable to be treated in such an abusive manner. I am just doing my job & do not deserve for someone to act that way towards me. It is not very professional & is extremely bad customer service. It is also not a very positive way to deal with a customer.

I needed a courier to pick up something I had bought on gum tree. They were charming on the phone. “We can do that for 78 he says”. So I agree. Now when the delivery driver arrived in the pouring rain he left the item half in my doorway/half out. He parked at the end of the road because he said it was too narrow to get down. It wasn’t. So I helped bring in the stuff. I call up to pay the next day. And they then added on VAT. If VAT wasn’t included in the original quote they should have said! Or at least email me with a professional quote to make that clear. They didn’t. So I flagged this up in a very calm manner. The guy on the phone started screaming at me and concluded with: “yeah whatever you’ve just a cheap deal out of us. Don’t come back”. I won’t! Make your prices transparent and clear...and then you won’t have these issues. I presumed when receiving a quote your VAT was included. If it’s not you should say! And maybe listen to someone rather than shouting at them down the phone. Definitely won’t be recommending.
