Food fab , staff very friendly and very helpful and cheerful. My mate was in a wheelchair and the place is very wheelchair friendly. Deffo recommend xx thanks peeps really enjoyed today !! Will come again when down from London x

Really friendly and welcoming place, with a lovely covered outside area for eating and drinking. Very pretty lake views. Good food. The crab bisque and brie were excellent. Burger good too. Mussels very flavoursome but a little gritty at times. We recommend this place and will be back.
Cosy and friendly atmosphere, with a great view of the lake (depending on where you are seated) I asked for a lemonade in a gin glass because I'm pregnant and cant drink alcohol. The manager offered me a non alcoholic gin which she showed me before hand for piece of mind which I appreciated. Food was really tasty. I had the king prawn linguine which was bursting with flavour. My partners crab soup starter was amazing too. I stole half of it after he allowed me to taste it! Service with a smile from start to finish. Thank you ladies, we will be returning in the near future
The food at the Golden Lion is always wonderful.... after a couple of hours walk around the lake this is a great place to recuperate either just for a drink or food. In good weather sit in the perfect garden. If you haven't been on a sunday then GO the lunch is amazing and as many roasties as you want, definitely worth 5 stars.
Had a lovely time at the golden lion, we waltzed in without a booking despite Covid times. Food was very flavoursome and we were all happy with our dishes. Staff were very quick to serve us and the house wine was good. It felt like we were eating food made at home.
