Pass through Refugio all the time. Decided to stop and get a late lunch. The staff was friendly. The place was clean. That’s a head start to most small town Tex-Mex. The chips and salsa was really good. Thick and crunchy chips. Salsa had a good tomato/cilantro flavor. Everything else was average Tex-Mex found at many other places. I ordered the cheese enchiladas. Not a big fan of gravy, wish more used enchilada sauce. Or chile sauce. I added a taco. The taco came with a salad. I cleaned my plate, so it wasn’t bad. Just not special.

Been driving since 0600 expecting to stop earlier in the morning for breakfast. Route I took had practically nothing and what it had I didn't want. Stopped here and am very happy with the meal and service I received. Coffee is very GOOD!
I went here twice. Once for dinner & once for breakfast. For dinner I had the shrimp platter/ special. The shrimp was actually ok as well as the tartar sauce but my fries were over cooked & the side salad was watery. Breakfast wasn't much better. I will say that the tacos are a pretty good size though. I had a egg & bean taco that was ok but the bacon & egg taco wasn't too my liking. The bacon wasn't fully cooked. I definitely won't be coming here again.
Hidden gem!! We will definitely be coming back. The food tasted great, the staff was very friendly and the service was quick.
Great food and service along with amazing prices.
