Josef Chromy is the Rolls Royce of the Northern Tasmania wineries – a lovely building in a beautiful setting, and a sensational restaurant. The letdown, for us, was the wine tasting, which skewed towards the lower end of their list and was, to us, unremarkable. (To be fair, we’re not big fans of sparkling and this is what the winery is famous for.) However, everything else here was perfection. Arrive early if the weather is good and enjoy the lovely gardens. The wine tasting experience is excellent – a separate table with 4 wines poured at once, but with a place mat explaining what you are tasting. Then, walk into the spectacular restaurant and enjoy some of the best food you will have anywhere in the state. The service here is superb– lots of staff looking after you, totally on top of their game and the menu, and the food and presentation is simply awesome. A must visit if you are in the region.

Delicious food and tasty matching wines. Great grounds to walk through, booked the 'Let's do Lunch' package and no one seemed to realise that's what we had but we had to a great server who sorted it out for us. Gets very busy so recommend booking ahead!

Visited from the mainland a month or so past with my partner. Sharon was such an excellent host that I brought my father and brother back and was delighted that she was once again on hand to guide us through the wonderful offerings. Cannot recommend enough.

We lunch there. The food was absolutely delicious, especially the entree/smaller course and the desert, which were unique and made from local ingredients. Their wine was also delicious and you can go for a walk around their beautiful grounds after the meal. Last, but not least was their friendly staff. Highly recommended.

Wonderful experience had at Josef Chromy Wines. We had a lovely lunch to celebrate my wife's birthday. The food and wine was excellent and the great service from our waiter Marco was very much appreciated. If that wasn't enough we were spoilt by the surrounding gardens and thoroughly enjoyed our stroll around the magnificent lake. Highly recommend, will be back.

Excellent lunch and wine tasting here. Food and service was top notch. Every dish was delicious. Fav was the ocean trout and the fried potatoes. Will venture again on a sunny day, the outdoor seating looked inviting.

What a magnificent vineyard just outside of Launceston Tasmania. The grounds are glorious and the wine tasting experience was by far the best I've ever experienced. Seated at individual tables, the wines are poured and each is extensively explained. You're then left to enjoy each glass and take in the amazing scenery that surrounds you. Staff were attentive and knowledgeable. By far the best wine tasting experience I've ever had.
