I am a 69 year old recent widow. I have lived in Oregon all my life. I have been an early childhood educator for over 30 years. I am unable to work, and the stimulus checks are literally keeping me alive. I am waiting to get my vaccine, hopefully soon. I am absolutely appalled that my own representative voted against the current House bill. Who on earth would have thought an Oregon representative would be so out of touch with his constituents. Anger doesn’t begin to express my feelings tonight. I hope Mr. Schrader reconsiders his ridiculous vote. He is totally wrong on this one.

I appreciate that Schrader is not playing politics but is instead looking deeply into the Covid bills and voting no, not because he doesn’t want us to have relief, but because the bills being presented are more about funding various non Covid programs and doesn’t release the money for a long time. In other words, he went against the grain because to go with it was just wrong. Thank you for being honest and real. Covid relief should not also cover bridges to Canada from NY, or financing for abortions in other countries, or money for states that have been fiscally mismanaged. - those issues should have their own Bill, not tied to Covid relief. Over 90% of the recent Bill has zero to do with Covid! Doing the right thing is hard, especially when constituents don’t know the truth and are mislead by the media. Our country needs non partisan politicians who will do the right thing, no matter how misunderstood. Thank you!
