Probably the best meal I had in Madrid

Two years ago, I had a fantastic dinner at Sanxenxo. Huge plates full of delicious Galician style seafood. Coming back and seeing what happened to this place since then was very disappointing. For a price closely rivaling that of the 7 course menu at Ramón Freixa where I ate the previous day, you will get a few shrimps, ONE scallop, and a mediocre fish main. Unlike RF, this place does not have any stars, nor does it deserve any. The staff made no effort to advise us on our order, and we ended up leaving hungry.

A really wonderful atmosphere and unparalleled service compared to anywhere else we ate in Madrid. We had really wonderful starters (a variety of the soups) and a great bottle of Cava that was totally reasonable in price. Unfortunately the mains were all a little too salty - not crazy, just a bit too much to really enjoy them to the max.

I am rating it 5 stars as I consider it to be one of the best restaurant in Madrid. The quality of the food and wines is always excellent, the personnel is impeccable and very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend it.

Besides having beautiful decor and outstanding service, this restaurant served the most delicious turbot I have ever tasted. WOW! A little pricey, but well worth the visit.
