Nyonya food restaurant in Melaka Raya, em... Food soso lo... Price consider ok lo, Otak otak *** Fish ** Cendol ** Chicken Pongteh *** Lady finger ** nothing special
like
Normally when come to good food, we will tell each other which dish is tastiest and so on, but now we are telling each other which one is louzier. So surprise to find bad nyonya food in Melaka, either too sweet or too salty... and happen this is one of my favorite place before...
I would say it's an average Nyonya restaurant but worth a visit.
Pic shows that we ate everything. It was that good. Not too pricey. Decor is simple.
I used frequent this place every time I came to Melaka. The food quality has degraded so much. Such poor food quality. Seafood was stale, and even the vegetables were somewhat stale. Will not return.
If you are looking for authentic nyonya food, delicious, home cooked and reasonably priced, you are in for an awesome treat. The ayam pongteh, ayam buah keluak and their special sambal fish is delicious.
Most of the food taste weird. I wouldn't go back. The asam fish gravy is watery/diluted. The fish itself is very salty (like marinated with salt for too long?). The prawn/sotong sambal petai has only 10% petai. The fish maw soup is worse than any wantan soup out there. The mixed vege (chap choi) has glass noodles that sticked together. Only the otak-otak is nice (my wild guess is that this is supplied by other vendor?). Even the barley tasted weird and a bit sour (maybe due to over-boiled all day long?). (I went in because all other nyonya restaurants nearby were full and long waiting queue, while this one is half empty. Perhaps this explained why @_@
