A pleasant reception, nice clean room with a lovely views. Convenient for restaurants and an excellent base for exploring the Brecons and central Wales.

I've been staying here on and off for about 7 years. Only lacking the 5th star because it's all rather dated but can't fault it for what matters a clean bed, a clean bathroom and a good fry-up for breakfast.
Rhayader is a great base for a cycling holiday. The property is in short walking distance of the town centre with shops and pubs. The room was quiet and not too small with a nice view from the window. I didn't feel very welcome as the lady running the establishment didn't talk very much (at all) - neither did she ask any questions regarding the purpose of my visit nor did she have any suggestions on what to do or where to have dinner (not that I needed them) but more than 'here is the key' as a greeting would have been nice and much appreciated. Breakfast was ok, just the sausage could have been better quality (more meat content). Both the shared bathroom and the sink in the room could have done with mixing taps really. Also, the toilet paper in the shared bathroom ran out during my stay and was not replaced. Overall this B&B was ok for a 3 night stay but next time I'll probably stay somewhere else as I will definitely visit this area again with my road bike.
Bit dated but quiet.
