We liked most everything that we ordered. The Mac n Cheese was very light on flavor for us. The Symphony Fries were good, but very light on the BBQ sauce. I ended up asking for more and it was a 50 cent charge. I would have paid that, but I don't carry cash and they can't run the card for 50 cents. They were nice enough to give me the sauce for free, but I feel like the dish should just come with enough sauce to begin with. You can see from the picture I posted that there wasn't much sauce to begin with. Also worth noting, this was not a quick lunch. It took about 30 minutes to get our food. Not sure if that is normal, but there were only a few people that ordered ahead of us. We would stop in again if we were in the area. I'd like to sample a few other items before passing a final judgement.

Great place for soul food. Wonderful value for the money. The neighborhood isn't great, but it is improving. Plenty of parking behind the restaurant. Super tasty soul and soul inspired dishes with generous portions, and very reasonable prices. BBQ is bit more, but that is sort of unavoidable. It is pay first, then delivered to table and served on disposable dishes, so it isn't a fancy place. Come here for the food, and not on a date. Only open 11 to 5 Wednesday to Sunday, and if you come on Sunday layer in the day items might be out, so plan for that. Otherwise a great place to satisfy that home cooked meal craving.

Like most other reviews noted, they were out of brisket. Potato salad was different with green olives added. 7 cheese mac'n cheese had a sweet flavor. Greens had a tad kick. Ribs and chopped pork was delicious and tender.

The food was flavorful and the owners treat patrons like family. I went went with the chicken and waffle with a side of sweet potato fries. They use succulent chicken thighs and they were cooked just right. The waffle batter was made of red velvet which was a completely different flavor then my usual chicken and waffles but tasted wonderful. The sweet potato fries had good flavor as well, however, I don't think due to the quantity they give you, 3 is the right price. Overall, I definitely enjoyed the food and the experience.

The food is delicious, but a bit pricey. 10 for thighs. Which is a bit high for chicken thighs. The Macaroni and Cheese was delicious, and the Collards were on point. Want to Save on Soul Food? Off the Hook, is a bit more easy on the wallet.

I had the fried shrimp basket because they didn't have the beef brisket available. The breading on the shrimp didn't stick well so it fell off pretty fast into my meal, the aioli was pretty good just a little bit too much garlic. the fries were fresh cut and very good. Overall a good meal hopefully next time I get the brisket.

Great local place. Great food. Warning: they close at 7 and can run out of food if you come late.
