Farris Chapel was built in 1880 for a congregation founded in 1841 by Hezekiah Farris. (Ref. Texas Historical Commission) This tiny church, surrounded by shade trees, is clad in white clapboard and has a red metal roof. It is located just inside the Walker county line, five miles north of FM-149, on FM -1791.
