My second time here, this time with a group of friends. Friendly owner on site, somewhat dated but otherwise very clean rooms with well equipped kitchenettes and an amazing grassy "backyard" with a gazebo, picnic tables, and a communal BBQ behind all the rooms, with a rear door in each room making it easily accessible. Made for a most enjoyable evening for our group travelling together as we were able to cook a great meal and enjoy it together outdoors. Very quiet in a beautiful wooded setting. A little bit off the highway, but it's worth the (also very scenic) drive to stay here versus one of the highway motel options.
Had family stay here last week. Wonderful experience. Exceptionally clean and pleasant.
St. Joseph island is such an amazing place and the Clansman was the perfect spot for my girlfriend and I to stay during our time. The prices are very good and the owners were super accommodating. It may not be very fancy but it has everything we needed. We were lucky enough to see deer right on the property two separate times during our three days. It was such a relaxing, peaceful experience and we have zero complaints whatsoever. We were sad to head back to the city but we're excited for our next trip to St. Joseph Island.

Excellent service and clean, comfortable accommodations. The owners and staff were very friendly and professional. Loved the pool! Tons to do on the the island...great place to visit. Would highly recommend making the trip!

Pretty good overall. Larger than many motel rooms. Ours had a little kitchennete. I forget the price exactly but it seemed pretty reasonable.
