For my driving instructor "Mike Li" (Burnaby), sometimes he prefers to call himself "Michael Li" as well. I would give him 2 stars as a maximum. Pros: Patient & Friendly. Michael prefers to use his own unique teaching method in order to make his students feel comfortable and confident. Cons: I HIGHLY notice that Michael sometimes receives a variety of phone calls and texts messages for a long time while he is still teaching me and his other students in the meanwhile. And also, he even eats foods while he is still teaching me and his other students simultaneously. The above analysis just covers everything related to my real experience. 100% TRUE! Trust me please. Thanks a lot!

Personally! Michael Li (Burnaby) is an unprofessional and irresponsible driving instructor. After all, he is a licensed realtor (Real Estate Agent). Because I have clearly heard about him receiving calls about his own real estate businesses so many times while he is still teaching me and other students at the same time. Sometimes even he is having lunches and dinners as well. On the other hand, he is accustomed to saying “Just drive into the Burnaby Casino. Let’s have a short break. Because I will use the washroom there” in the midway of class time. BUT pitifully, I have indeed noticed that he shows his ID at the front desk and even enters into the Casino main room every time. Maybe he just wants to get some coffee. This is just my guess. In this way, combined with his washroom time consumption, at least 810 minutes are wasted. What’s worse, Michael Li even left the car from time to time and then said that “Just for one second since I have to meet a client here about my private business.” Correspondingly, another 810 minutes are unfortunately wasted again. When I got home and discussed this driving instructor with my roommates, they surprisingly asked me “Why do you find this unreliable one? We BOTH exactly know what kind of person he is.” Because 2 of my roommates have experienced the similar situations. BUT luckily, I just only went Michael’s classes twice. This is my TRUE experience. Hope that I can find a trustworthy driving instructor in the future.

The female instructor virtually taught me nothing practical and useful. She just let me drive on my own without pinpointing the techniques or skills albeit I am an experienced driver from another country. Some test routes were not covered. Waste of time and money.

Sunny is an excellent instructor. I found him after failing my first road test spectacularly and passed two weeks later with only a few minor demerits. He knows most of the test routes in Richmond and many “landmines” testers-of-days-past encountered. He talks continuously during the lessons so nothing is missed, albeit him being towards the loud side so it might not be for everyone. He is half retired and does this for leisure so he might not be available everyday. Also his preferred language of instruction is Chinese. Just putting it out there if you want to tone up your mandarin skills.

The customer service is so bad, they can’t handle a conversation in English. Then my instructor was literally eating while “teaching”. Don’t waste your money there are better schools.
