We have now purchased several items ( lead rope, reigns..) from Punkin Patch Farm. The quality is second to none, and we had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with Kathy while we were there last week. We took the drive from Ottawa, and we're glad we did. She came highly recommended and were glad we listened. Will definitely return.

This place makes me smile, well done good hearted horse care. I wish this experience for everyone.
My girls, 5 and 7, are taking natural horsemanship lessons there. The owner, Kathy Knight, is very knowledgeable and really takes the time to explain and demonstrate everything, and she is great with kids. Her horses are beautiful, well kept and healthy and she knows them really well. The place is very clean and well kept.
I would have given Punkin Patch Farm 4.5 stars if I were only rating the pony rides because the people were very patient, informative and good with the children - and the horses were very well trained and healthy. Where the event went downhill was that the space provided for the luncheon was absolutely inappropriate to serve food or have a celebration. I do not wish to elaborate on the reprehensible condition of the space, so I will simply reiterate that this farm is an ideal place for a children's pony ride outing.
My 7 year old daughter did about 5 natural horsemanship lessons with Kathy at Punkin Patch Farm. She has been riding at a therapeutic riding centre for a few years and this past year had a great introduction to natural horsemanship in BC. My daughter's comfort level and experience with horses increased tremendously. She learned a lot with Kathy's clear and experienced teaching. The first 3 lessons were groundwork with the minis (my daughter did not ride during those lessons but learned communication and played games). The 4th and 5th lessons she rode Toby. Also noteworthy are the ponies here are are gentle, responsive, well-trained and well-socialized. Unlike other places we've been where ponies may be easily frightened, her ponies are relaxed. This makes a big difference for my comfort level as a parent trusting that my daughter is in a safe place while delving deeper into her love of horses.
I celebrated my daughters 4th birthday at the Punkin Patch Farm due to my daughter’s love for horses. The activity was great and the owners were very knowledgeable patient and kind to the children, the kids had a blast. However the website advertises that they offer a “lounge” for your celebration to eat and cut the cake. “The lounge” is a storage room (to say the least) overcrowded with things, a bed, dirt and several cats. By requesting the “lounge” and paying for it, we thought we would have access to an empty room with chairs, this was not the case. It was a children birthday and I was not informed that we would be eating amongst the barn cats crawling all over us and the kids. We politely ate as fast as we could and left because all my guests were disgusted and had allergies to the cats and dust. I don’t mean to offend anyone and I am not one to leave bad reviews but though the owner was very kind and the kids had lots of fun with the horses, the information on the website is very misleading and I would not recommend anyone to use that part of their facility.
We had a pony party at our house today. What a great time! The ponies were great! Trainers were informative, patient and fun! Thanks to Kathy, Danielle, Kim and of course Caly & Magic Gayle
Perfect place to spent time with kids but it lacks of some entretainment
