We did the full circle route from this parking lot - it's called the Escapade and is 13 or 14 km in total. It's a good trail for hiking, with very good signs (you can't get lost!) though there are some good hills and rocky parts. Because it goes up and down, and because it goes around the mountain, there's a wide variety of scenery, from birch and aspen, to marshlands, to pine forest, to maple (and maple syrup production). It's completely free, there's parking, and little outhouses at most of the parking spots.

A good meeting point, we hiked from P2 until the observation spot, passing by the cabane à sucre at P8. It took about 30-40 minutes hiking from P2 to P8 (sucrerie de la montagne); then another 1 hour from P8 to the observation point. Dogs are allowed. There’s a washroom cabin on the P2 site. Free parking, free entry!

Pretty area but invest in some signage. I walked from P2 to P8 and there was zero indication of where to go from there, so I walked back to P2 thinking I’d find the trail from other way and got lost yet again. Wasn’t worth the drive

The silence and autumn forest fresh air made the walk a real pleasure

This is part of a total of a 14Km trail that can be enjoyed in all seasons. Cross-country skiing trails tend to run on parallel trails so that the tracks remain intact. Parts of the trails are on gentle slopes so it's not crucial to be in excellent shape. The scenery is wonderful and the guides are helpful and friendly. Highly recommended for the whole family.
