I have been to quite a few nature reserves in the last couple of years and have to say this is my favourite so far. Plenty to see and photograph, the staff are very friendly and helpful as well. Thoroughly recommended.

There's so much to see and do here... if you can find it! We're not local but were holidaying in the New Forest and wanted a wooded walk and an opportunity to see some wildlife but the signposting is poor. Perhaps that's the 'cunning plan' as it was quite and peaceful. I suppose you could call it a 'hidden gem'! There are plenty of well signposted trails once you're in but wellies or walking boots are a must! The bird hides are well positioned and there was plenty to see even in winter. Best of all, it's all free (although donations are encouraged).
