Great bookstore. Loads of English boooks and lots of copies of local Brazilian author Jorges Amado and Paulo Coehlo. Great vibe and restaurant upstairs. Love this place.

We found this gem on a busy street full of bars and pubs in Botafogo. We got a table for four in the bistro on a weeknight, while on the other pubs every street table was packed in this location it was busy but not packed. Already posted pictures of the interior speak for themselves, it is stunning. What was even more captivating is the restaurant/vinothek part in the back where we had dinner. The menu is packed with wines and some colourful dishes to choose from. I had a simple omelette with cheese and ham and a side of green salad with cherry tomatoes, and it was delightfully prepared and tasted great. There is an abundance of books to choose from to read and some for sale. The bar and library/bookstore seems to be somewhat separated from the bistro within the same building and yet belong together, as we ate in the back and paid at the cash desk in front. Four stars for a rather long wait on the food (30min) which I do believe though was freshly prepared from scratch, and some misleading merchandise for beer brands which they do not stock - in the back at least. Overall a great experience!

That's not a simple book store. It's a place for book tasting. You can grab a coffee, take a book, enjoy some time in the outside. It has a large variety of books and dvds. It has even a children area.
