Into the darkness so it seems. It is rather an easy walk along this dry cave which is well kept and properly maintained. Guided tour with matching equipment are provided when you register. Helmets definitely a must since there are low ceilings with sharp edges . There are no musty or earthy odor in the cave since there are lots of opening along the cave network which allows light and ventilation. Lots of interesting rock formation and the cave is still growing so try not to touch any of it. Our Guide is quite informative about the nooks and crannies as well as the stories about the cave and it is quite entertaining. An option will be given of further exploration once you near the exit. The second level is a bit harder and physically challenging not to mention dirtier so its up to you if you feel adventurous. Otherwise its walking out toward the light.
Can't go too deep. It was beautiful back then. But there are cases of vandalism found. :(
Beautiful cave! You initially pay to go 2 levels down but there are 3 to 5 levels where you'll have to pay extra to get to with a guide. Our guide was fun and knowledgeable. 1st 2 levels are about 45 mins long but its cool down there so you may not need water. Lots of small, tight openings fyi. There are food vendors outside as well and a stream down below of the exit to the cave.
We had the best tour guide. He was thorough and entertaining. You will never get bored. The place is safe even for my 5 yr old who enjoyed it because there were bats and owls inside. There are places that are too narrow but no part are scary. Don't leave without visiting this place.
Nice place , if u drive your car or motorcycle, from makati around 55km in 2h without traffic, the entrance fee only 45php per head, and 200php for tourist guide, walk in the cave around 15mins,it is cold , exciting and amazing, don't worry it's safety, and u can go there falls from here ,only 5km around .
After 27 years, I've returned to this place. During my high school days, we frequently visit this place during weekends or during Sabbath strolls. It is still the Calinawan 27 years ago. The only change was the guided tour, the bike helmet and the entrance fee. Anyway, the entrance fee is okay. The fee can help the folks here in their livelihood. The walk is only 5-15 minutes depending on the phase of your walk if you pause/stop and get some pictures inside. Many local movies and the famous Jacky Chan: Armour of God 2 movie was taken/filmed here. Love to visit it once more!
For first timers this is a good experience. Just make sure you wear proper attire and bring a flashlight with you. The tour guide is full of facts about the place and funny too.
