One of the best Lifeboat Stations in the world. A more sociable bunch would be hard to find.

This is a historic rescue station that played a pivotal role in the rescue of the Lusitania survivors in 1915. While the facility itself is dedicated to the mission of rescuing disabled mariners, the crew is very friendly and will be happy to show you around the facility and lifeboat (provided there is no distress call.) When we paid a call Coxswain Sean took us around and showed us a number of mementos and artifacts, as well as some of the facility's equipment. If you're in Courtmac with kids on a rainy day, you may want to knock on the door and ask if you can look around.
