This site does not allow converted campervans without windows. So if you have converted a van and not put windows in there you can't stay. I turned up late so no staff around to stop me staying. I paid the next morning with a not so friendly member of staff and left. Also there are some quite grumpy/angry caravan owners on site that will happily shout at your kids. Shame because it is close to home and seemed like a nice place to stay.

Our sons half term holiday seemed to be different to most of the rest of the country this October 2018! Not a child in site for him to play with unfortunately but that didn't stop us adventuring and it was end of the season. We were the only ones on site camping with electric hook up. Lovely campsite though and friendly staff. The facilities were clean and good. We caught some lovely sun sets and had a peaceful stay. We will be back another time when the weather warms up. Thank you to the lovely lady in the on site shop who helped me out with some hairspray .

Avoid Avoid Avoid. Heartless staff who are happy to watch hundreds of 10lb Carp die rather than deal with a basic problem Horrific experience staying here last weekend. The site has potential to be an absolute gem but the state of the fishing lakes with a mixture of already dead carp on the top of the water and others struggling for breath due to lack of water and no pump providing oxygen was horrific. Apparently this is a repeat of what happened last year (when the fire service had to attend to help oxygenate the water to try and save the fish) but nothing has been implemented to ensure it didn’t happen again. A basic pump circulating water and putting oxygen in would be an easy relatively cheap solution but apparently they aren’t prepared to do that. The manager was quite possible the rudest person I have spoken to in my adult life and we were told it’s the fisherman’s fault the fish are like that (slightly confusing when it’s obvious the water level and oxygen levels at fault!). There is no way anyone could actually fish the lake despite them still advertising the fishing lake on their website and the main reason we visited the site! Our daughter has actually suffered nightmares about the fish since returning as it was such an awfully sad sight for adults let alone children to see. The managers/owners of this site should be ashamed of themselves. I have videos showing condition of the lake and fish is anyone would like further evidence (this has also been passed over to the RSPCA and fishing authorities). Avoid avoid avoid.

Excellent stay, although no bar/ club house, or pool. Spotlessly clean all over, especially the loos, although due to Covid 19, you are unable to take a shower. Excellent walks/ cycling to be had, but due to low levels of water in the river, no fishing at present !. Would definately go again, but be prepared to make your own entertainment, unless your looking for perfect peace & quiet, in which case this ticks all the boxes !!!!!
