Very professional, and took very good care of my dog after she had been attacked by bigger dogs. They took her right back and kept me updated on her condition the entire time she was there. I got to bring her home four days later. We followed up with her regular doctor, and she even raved on what a good job they did. I was very impressed with the staff, during a very difficult time, and a pandemic they comforted us both.️️

If your pet needs emergency care DO NOT take them to the Rock Hill location! I would rate 0 stars if possible. My brothers dog Boulder was not doing well Sunday 6/28 and so my family rushed him to Carolina Veterinary Specialists in RH. They filed paperwork online while in the car, called ahead, and still when they arrived were told it would be a 6 hour wait. The receptionist said it would be at least two hours before anyone could look at him. Emergency vets use a triage system. You can not triage a pet when you refuse to look at them. Boulder unfortunately did not have 2 hours to wait.. this was a true emergency and even after telling the receptionist they still refused to look at him. My family rushed to the closest other emergency vet where he passed away very shortly after. I trust that anyone working in these facilities went into the profession because they love animals and want to save as many pets as possible so it is hard for me to understand why they would not even come out to look at him but call themselves an emergency facility. In times of emergency every minute counts... again, please do not take your pet here. No pet deserves the ending Boulder experienced.
I spent most of January (at least 2 times a week) trying to get an appointment for my cat. The referral was sent long ago to this clinic. Every time I called I was told the neurologist was out of town and to call back. When my appointment was canceled by the vet service I kept trying to reschedule. Each time it was something different and I was told I’d get a call back the next day. That never occurred, not once. This happened again in February until I reached a staff member who at least got the appointment set up. I called at least 7 times before this was resolved. When I did arrive I had been given the wrong time by the staff, so I waited for 45 minutes in the lot. I provided an updated address and when I went to get my kitty in the afternoon the information was still incorrect. The actual veterinarian was knowledgeable, but their front end staff really have no process at all. Since this is the only neurology service around you’re pretty much stuck. The front end process needs a customer friendly uhaul.
I was told not to come back after having my puppy’s bandages changed on a splint they provided. If I came back, I was told they would charge me 80 instead of 25. The last time I visited, I returned the next day due to his splint completely sliding off and I was still charged. I explained my Vet is not open on Wednesday's so yes even if minor, this was an emergency to us. The doctor “understood” then told me the rate would be tripled to 80 if I return. I will drive to Charlotte if I have any other emergencies. Never again
They told us our dog was fine after she had an accident and we rushed her to them. They put a cone and made her walk out to us. She got worst toke her to other vet 3 days later lost her leg a week after.
I took my dog here because he was having a horrible reaction and he’s eyes had an infection. I had to pay 104 for just for him to be seen. Knowing my poor dog is 13 years old when the lady came out to get him she was rude and grabbed my dog by the collar to drag him out the car to carry him inside. While inside this lady or the doctor did not contact me. When I called to let them know of his already heart conditions they told me they gave him a 117 dollar injection for nausea when he didn’t need that. AND THEY DID NOT ASK BEFOREHAND. They did a examine on his eye which was 40 and a procedure to see if he had glaucoma 40 and was going to give us ointment and heart medicine 43. We don’t have this kind of money. They wouldn’t let us have the ointment for my poor dog. I would never go to this vet now we have to wait till Monday to see his regular vet. I certainly hope nothing gets worse or it’s this vets fault.
While we didn’t come away with a positive outcome for our dog, Dream, I do have to say that Dr. Morrison was wonderful to our sweet girl until her very last moments. Our hearts are broken with the loss of our girl but she was shown such respect and treated with such dignity until the very end. Thank you, Dr. Morrison for your compassion and kind words.
My brand new puppy was diagnosed with parvo, infected at the rescue facility we got him from. We were advised that he needed round the clock care by our regular vet and they told us to go to Carolina Veterinary Specialists in Rock Hill. He was on death's door. Carolina Veterinary Specialists saved his life and gave me a happy go lucky puppy back. I will always be grateful for the care he received and they clearly saved his life. Dr. Huff is amazing! I can't be happier with the service. Parvo treatment isn't cheap but they did let me know ahead of time as to the cost.
