1000% worth it. Captain Dan is wicked knowledgeable and has spent the last 30 years sailing all over the world. Try to go for at least 4hrs OR sign up for the lobster bake on the beach. It’s absolutely incredible. You sail over to a small uninhabited island, while enjoying a charcuterie board. Once you’re on the island you’ll enjoy the FRESHEST lobsters paired with plenty of homemade food and homemade pie to top it off. We will definitely be back for another sail!! Remember to BYOB.

My older brother had found the website for Bufflehead Sailing Charters while searching for sailing in Rockland during our vacation. Captain Daniel was very friendly and shared lots of history, knowledge, and great stories of the area as we were sailing. He also showed us good spots for photos and recommended amazing sightseeing spots and restaurants for us to visit during our trip. It was the first time I have been on a sailboat before and I had an awesome experience. We were out on the water for two hours and time seemed to fly by quick because we had so much fun!
The best sailing experience I’ve ever had! Sailing skills among the best I’ve seen, very impressive. So knowledgeable about the area too, made the trip even better. I highly recommend sailing with Daniel and Bufflehead Sailing Charter!!!
Captain Daniel was awesome. He worked with us around the weather in early October to make sure that we had the best possible experience. He took us out to an island where we did some hiking and then came back and he cooked lobster for us on the shore. It was THE BEST lobster we had the entire week we were in Maine! We sailed back into the sunset and had beautiful views of lighthouses and got to see some other very cool sailing vessels (who all greeted us warmly). Captain Daniel was very informative throughout the sail about everything around the area. This sailing adventure was definitely the highlight of our trip and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a non-commercialized Maine experience.
Did a two-hour tour with my dad this summer and had a blast. Captain Dan not only did a great job piloting his boat to show us around, he was very informative about the history of Rockland and the surrounding areas. Would definitely sail with him again.
