NEGLIGENT AND DISHONEST! I don't typically like to do this but I am disgusted and beside myself. A few weeks ago I was on the highway between exit 14&13 southbound and found myself behind a landscaping dump truck that did NOT have the cover to its mulch properly secured. Due to this, I went to pas the vehicle on the only side that I could, the left, the same side that did not have the mulch cover secured. (Rear left corner.) While behind the truck and as I passed it, debris from the bed of the truck was flying off and hitting my hood and windshield, including hard flecks of what sounded like gravel/pebbles. As I got beside the vehicle in order to pass it, my passenger was able to get the name of the company as well as the phone number: Robert Merrit Masonry out of Rockland. As my windshield incurred cracks from what came off of that truck, I got off the highway as quickly as I could and called the company to inform them, they referred me to their insurance. An adjuster came out and quoted me 737 in damage, damage to my hood as well as my windshield. My car was in damn perfect condition exterior-wise, this car is my baby! I just received a letter in the mail from RMM's insurance company saying that the cover to the truck bed was most certainly secured therefore they believe the rocks that flew at my car and damaged it were from the ground and that's not their responsibility. Wow! The negligence of this company damaged my vehicle, and instead of owning up to it as an honest business owner and man- the owner of this company blatantly LIED. If he is low enough to lie about something like this and negligent enough to damage someone's vehicle- would YOU trust him to work on your property?!
