We have been very happy with our gas and electric service! When we had an issue being charged for someone else's water pump, it was fixed promptly, and the staff were very friendly. A big step up from our big-city energy company!

Worst company ever. No I do not recommend this company! I have moved back into my ex-husbands old house, and when I tried to turn on services they told me it was a marital debt and I'd have to pay his debts to turn on heat. My ex's outstanding bill is over 1000, AND I WAS NOT LIVING WITH HIM AT THE TIME THE DEBT WAS MADE, but my kids and I are being punished. I'm a single mother of 4, and my kids will have no heat this winter. Thank you black hills for your understanding.
My gas was turned off during maintenance of my meter but I was not advised. I waited an entire weekend, for A & A Plumbing's off hours service to call me. No response. NONE. Don't bother. I called B & L Plumbing and someone was here in 1/2 hour on Monday and upon inspection, I was told there was no gas. Honest plumber - B & L Plumbing. Black Hills Energy had me email the receipt from the plumbing trip charge to them and they sent me a check within three days. Integrity, honesty and willingness to own their mistake. How rare and refreshing! Bravo. They have earned my loyalty.
Been their customer for 9 months. Price for natural gas are very reasonable, and low than I thought. People who work there are very professional with an excellent attitude and respectable.
Very poor customer service but I suppose when you have no competition that is par for the course. -Extremely long wait times on the phone -Little to know explanation for the details of seemingly random bills/charges. I give 2 stars because the services they provide seem to be relatively solid, power and gas work as expected but their customer service team could use a serious revamp.
No choice but to use them they have a monopoly In this town
