Penang is famous for Rojak; that’s cubes of fruits, cucumbers sometimes with squid and fried fritters added, coated with thick dark sauce. Delicious! Rojak 101 stall at Esplanade is one of the most famous among locals. Manned by a very friendly family. Expect long queues but speedy service. Opens every night except Wednesday. Go, give this local delicacy a try. Price is rm5 for a medium portion. The sauce is yummy addictive and they do sell it in 2 sizes of container. A large one costs rm6, and you can dip any fruits (and vegetables) into it at home for the added Zingggggg....!!

One of the best rojak in Penang
Still one of the most well-balanced rojak on the island, with a strong and punchy sauce, finely ground peanut almost to a powder, crunchy crackers and fresh crisp unripe mango, sengkuang, cucumber, pineapple and guava. Optional squid is fresh, soft and chewy, adding a nice light umami flavour to the plate. Some people might complain that the sauce seems a little watered down, but I feel that it is due to the freshness of the fruits used and the thickness of the sauce.
