I've been visiting opticians since I was 6 and I'm now 66 - so I know what to expect in terms of service and, with a heavy duty prescription, have had glasses that have been good and bad over the years. Having just moved to Romsey, I'm a new customer with Emma and couldn't be more delighted. She's got a great little team who are friendly and efficient. The shop is compact but fully equipped with a full range of modern technology to look after your eye health. Ask her about scans! There is a terrific range of frames and lens types available and Emma is exceptionally thoughtful about your needs and preferences as she guides you to the right choice. For me, the main thing is, of course, the spectacles - I've now got a pair that I am regularly complimented on (and that doesn't happen much to old men!). They are a perfect fit, my vision is as good as it has ever been, and they are about half the weight of my old pair. On top of that, I know my eyes are healthy and that I can always go back for repairs or any other concerns. I really can't recommend this opticians enough - they are great!

With a prescription of -10 I have struggled my whole life to find glasses that are comfortable to wear and which don't make me feel self-conscious. The previous pair I bought from a well renowned opticians were incredibly heavy and unsightly. I also now need varifocals. Having broken my old glasses that were over 20 years old I have been searching for viable replacements and had virtually given up. Emma really took the time to understand my concerns and invested a significant amount of her time in locating frame options which would work well for my complex prescription. She was also extremely careful in taking measurements to ensure the lenses were as thin as they could possibly be. I can safely say that the glasses I now have as a result are the best pair of glasses I have had in my life. Not only do they give me the best all round vision both long and short BUT above all the lenses are unobtrusive set in the frames something which I didn't think was achievable. On top of that the glasses cost less than any glasses I have bought in the last 20 years. I cannot speak highly enough of Emma and the whole team at Romsey Eyecare they truly have been amazing and a testament to what outstanding service delivery is available from independent opticians and why no one should accept what they are told from large optician chains.

I can well understand why they are Family Optician of the Year 2020 finalists. I have not been better cared for at an opticians. They have also an ocular ct scanner. Hope they win it come September.
