Just Horrible place. My brother said it was like being treated like an animal in a cage. Food was awful. They rarely got out for even a walk. The ownership would not return 200 of new cloths and supplies I bought for my brother. When he left, I had sent him 80 in cash. They said they would return it, however after 3 months of following them up, I still did not receive his money. Two months later when we did finally receive it, the ownership attempted to charge my brother 1100 for their mistake and under calculations. It was a spiteful attempt. My brother was strapped down and shipped to another hospital on his birthday. If possible, do not let a family member go there. There is one bright spot, an employee named *Dori.*

The staff sleeps and the day consists of smoking breaks and activities. The activities department is the best and doesn't receive the recognition its deserved. They bring smiles to everyone and makes the residents days a little brighter. The nursing CNAs on the women side is horrible. The men side have there program together. They turn off the TV ayv10, shout off the lights and wake us up changing others that need help through the night for incontinence. My experiences in only a weeks time was that they should have cigarettes with coffee available by 6 am. Smoke break firveomen then men eat and smoke. The patio should be open to smoke if you gave and are able to buy your own. The food is horrible and the heater was broke. No cable and no internet. You would think with medicare and Medicaid plus 900 a month private pay in a facility filled 100% they would have heat, Cabel and Internetvaccess not to mention if you have no money you will starve. Literally starve. I would not put my dog here to stay one day. Thanks for the experience Monterey, not to be returned or marketed by anyone in my world. Get some English speaking nurses and CNAs and that would help some as well. I never right reviews but for me strong at 55 to have to dial 911 because of getting attacked while soaking up some sun and no staff was scary and since then fights have broke out with these women all the time. Thank you and do your homework. This facility is clearly for profit and has one star for one reason.
